In June 2014 the second art in public space project of Z33 will start: De Unie Hasselt-Genk (The Hasselt-Genk Union). Tom van Gestel, former artistic director of SKOR, is the curator of this project. In this A-Z Lecture he talks about his experience with art in public space and about De Unie Hasselt-Genk. He also brings the artists Rinus Van de Velde, Erik Odijk and Maurer United who will make an art work for De Unie. They will explain their first plans for these art works in public space.

Krijn De Koning unfortunately can't attend - as announced before. Instead Paul Craenen (Musica) will talk about Het Geluid van Hasselt en Genk (The Sound of Hasselt and Genk).

Tom van Gestel is an art historian and for years was the artistic director of Stichting Kunst en Openbare Ruimte (SKOR, Foundation for Art and Public Domain). His interest goes chiefly to the interaction between art, sponsoring, location and the public aspect, in which he wants to make relevant connections between new media, architecture, urban developments and landscape architecture.

Lecture is in Dutch.

A-Z lectures take place on Tuesday at Zebrazaal at Z33 (Zuivelmarkt 33, Hasselt).

Entrance: 5 euros (2 drinks included). Students pay 3 euro when they show their student card.
