Marloeke Van der Vlugt

Marloeke Van der Vlugt studied Theatre Science at the University of Amsterdam. After her graduation in 1997, she went on to study the relationship between costume, stage design, video and movement, a.o. at the Goldsmiths Academy and the Laban Center in London. Since then she has been working as an autonomous artist and designer of various theatre and exhibition projects. She was also advisor for several Dutch Art Foundations and has been teaching at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht and the Frank Mohr Instituutin Groningen. In 2006, she started her MA at DasArts in Amsterdam. There she investigated a.o. the audiovisual and theatrical possibilities of the Multiplayer Online World Second Life. She graduated from DasArts in 2009 with the interactive performance installation Series Patchmaker #1 - Marloeke, 1971. Currently she is researching the possibilities of interactive spaces and sculptures. In both 2007 and 2011 Van der Vlugt was one of the Dutch designers selected for the Prague Quadriennale. Van der Vlugt lives and works in Amsterdam.
