Lieven De Boeck

Lieven De Boeck (°1971) is an architect and artist based in Brussels and New York. His work takes form on two levels. On the one hand, he observes the public space that defines both our daily reality and the context of any art practice. On the other hand, he concentrates on his all-embracing comprehensive project ‘the dictionary of space’. This dictionary verbalizes concepts concerning architectural topics such as appropriation, boundaries, territories, representation and identity. ‘The dictionary of space’ manifests itself in different media such as magazines, publications, performances, texts, drawings, models, installations and video.
