Artist talks - Mining to waste: micro-global traces of uranium - April 21th

april 21, Galerie Ravenstein 54-59, 1000 Brussels

During this evening event three artists will present their recent work and engage in an open discussion. Each of the artists focuses in a different way on the global traffic of materials and on the cycles they move through in time and space from mining, manufacturing and consumption to waste disposal. This session will focus on the material traces of uranium.

Maarten Vanden Eynde will talk about his Triangular Trade project, Lise Autogena and Joshua Portway will discuss the film they recently made on the current debate on uranium mining in Greenland and Alexis Destoop will focus on the contested area around Murmansk.

The talks will be held in English.
