Lara Almarcegui

Lara Almarcegui's interest in spaces which have escaped the designs of architects and urban planners, such as wastelands, demolished houses and allotment gardens, play a central role in her work. For FLAC©, Almarcegui analyses an area in Genk which will remain untouched in the years to come. This area - even when most other areas have long been redeveloped - will remain accessible to the viewer and be a place where imagination is given free rein. Here too nature can follow its course, influenced only by wind, rain, sun, plants, spontaneous use and the surrounding remnants. A piece of land is allowed to be what it is without any form of design.
