Jorge Satorre

Jorge Satorre makes small interventions in the public space, usually before daybreak. His work for FLAC© is a succession of slides that form a slow film so that the spectator can experience the event in slow motion. The artist filmed a helicopter landing on a spot he had filled with coloured sawdust. Satorre has developed the image in a highly evocative manner. We usually experience the world in contrasts; it is either light or dark, heavy or as light as a feather, white or black. Sartorre shows us that we cannot see the one without experiencing the other: movement is found in stillness, weight is the reverse of weightlessness, and volume is the opposite of nothing.
