Hermann Maier Neustadt

The basic elements in Hermann Maier Neustadt's work are architectural shapes which intervene in the space. These sculptures and installations are often conceived in a site-specific manner to make the spectator aware of the surrounding architecture. The artistic interventions change the direction in which you walk, in order to break down viewing and behaviour patterns. Paradoxes such as private versus public space are incorporated into the installations in order to raise the issue of housing-cum-personal living space. Art and architecture form the building blocks for artistic interventions which change our everyday perceptions.
